چکیده

Abstract. After the decrease of ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) as a consequence Montreal Protocol, it is still challenging to detect recovery in total column amount ozone (total ozone) at northern high latitudes. To assess regional changes “ozone-recovery” period (2000–2020) latitudes, this study investigates trends from ground-based measurements three stations Norway (Oslo, Andøya, and Ny-Ålesund). For purpose, we combine Brewer spectrophotometers, UV filter radiometers (GUVs), SAOZ (Système d'Analyse par Observation Zénithale) instrument. The have been extended work under cloudy conditions using global irradiance (GI) technique, which also presented study. We derive combined time series with multiple linear regression model Long-term Ozone Trends Uncertainties Stratosphere (LOTUS) project. evaluate various predictors found that tropopause pressure lower-stratospheric temperature contribute most variability stations. report significantly positive annual Andøya (0.9±0.7 % per decade) Ny-Ålesund (1.5±0.1 no significant trend Oslo (0.1±0.5 but autumn all Finally insignificant around 3 decade March stations, may be an indication Arctic springtime recovery. Our results better understanding essential how responds ODSs climate change.

Ozone trends derived from the total column and vertical profiles at a northern mid-latitude station

The trends and variability of ozone are assessed over a northern mid-latitude station, Haute-Provence Observatory (OHP: 43.93 N, 5.71 E), using total column ozone observations from the Dobson and Système d’Analyse par Observation Zénithale spectrometers, and stratospheric ozone profile measurements from light detection and ranging (lidar), ozonesondes, Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment (...

Fall vortex ozone as a predictor of springtime total ozone at high northern latitudes

Understanding the impact of atmospheric dynamical variability on observed changes in stratospheric O3 is a key to understanding how O3 will change with future climate dynamics and trace gas abundances. In this paper we examine the linkage between interannual variability in total column O3 at northern high latitudes in March and lower-tomid stratospheric vortex O3 in the prior November. We find ...

Trends of ozone total columns and vertical distribution from FTIR observations at eight NDACC stations around the globe

Ground-based Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) measurements of solar absorption spectra can provide ozone total columns with a precision of 2 % but also independent partial column amounts in about four vertical layers, one in the troposphere and three in the stratosphere up to about 45 km, with a precision of 5–6 %. We use eight of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change...
